Weeds in your flower bed
Weeds are one of the biggest problems in flowerbeds. Pre-emergents are the most effective way to stop weeds. They pose little or no harm to you flowers, however pre-emergents are not compatible with seeds.

Tips:
• Amend soil properly before planting anything
• Good drainage is important; the soil needs to breathe
• Fertilize regularly, but not too much
• Mulch the surface; this will help the soil to maintain its moisture 
• Avoid overhead sprinkling; this could damage the blossoms
